Nov 11 Update:
To my dear Friends and Family: thanks for your incredibly generous donations! Ollie and I shattered our goal in 3 days due to your thoughtfulness. I am so proud to know you all! Today is Veteran's Day - many of them struggle with homelessness and hunger. They deserve a helping hand as they have sacrificed more than we'll ever know to allow us to have the freedoms we currently enjoy. Let's keep working to help people in need, every little bit counts!
With deep appreciation from our house to yours,
Chris & Ollie
Dear Family and Friends:
Hope you are staying safe and healthy during the days of COVID! As we approach Thanksgiving, I hope you will join me in helping kids and adults who are suffering significantly during these difficult days - being hungry or worrying about your next meal is unimaginable.
I hope that you will open your hearts and wallets to support me in the So Others Might Eat (SOME's)1st Virtual Trot for Hunger 5K. Instead of trotting, I'll be walking with my four-legged faithful companion, Ollie. He's been my official COVID walking buddy during the pandemic. This is a charity that I also supported as part of our community service efforts in college, so when I saw an opportunity to participate, I didn't think twice about it.
SOME's Trot for Hunger is a 5K run and family walk held on Thanksgiving Day to benefit those individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Washington, DC. Taking the precautionary measure and keeping the mission moving, the 5k will be virtual this year. The Trot provides essential support for SOME's programs and help ensure that hungry District residents have a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day and every other day of the year.
Please make a gift contribution in my name or register to participate in this year's Trot for Hunger. Our support makes a world of difference in the life of a child or adult in need.
I am grateful for your support and generosity. Better yet, join me in a little exercise (virtually) before turkey dinner and for those savvy business people, a tax deduction! Every little bit helps a child or adult in distress. Let's share our good fortune with others.
BIG THANKS, stay healthy, and hope to see you soon!
