I am participating in SOME’s 1st Virtual Trot for Hunger 5K.
SOME's Trot for Hunger is a 5K run and family walk held on Thanksgiving Day to benefit those individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Washington, DC. Taking the precautionary measure and keeping the mission moving, the 5k will be virtual this year. The Trot provides essential support for SOME's programs and help ensure that hungry District residents have a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day and every other day of the year.
There are many adults and children in our community who are hungry and homeless. Unemployment and a lack of affordable housing have led to a significant increase in the number of homeless families and individuals.
Please make a gift contribution in my name or register to participate in this year's Trot for Hunger. Our support makes a world of difference in the life of a child or adult in need.
SOME (So Others Might Eat) has been serving the homeless and poor in Washington, DC for 49 years. SOME began as a tiny soup kitchen and now provides more than 1,200 meals to hungry people each day. In addition, SOME provides clothing, medical care, job training, affordable housing, programs for the elderly and other services that empower individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
