Please Support Me and SOME's Trot for Hunger!

We all know that there are many adults and children in our community who are hungry and homeless. Unemployment and recession have led to a 10% increase in the number of homeless families.   

This year, I decided to do something to help those who are less fortunate. I am participating in SOME's (So Others Might Eat) 40th Anniversary Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness and to support SOME's programs that provide meals, medical care and other supportive services for the poor and homeless.

About the Trot for Hunger

SOME's Trot for Hunger is a 5K timed run and family walk held on Thanksgiving Day to benefit the homeless and poor in Washington, DC.  The Trot provides essential support for SOME's programs for the poor and homeless and helps ensure that hungry District residents have a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day and every other day of the year.

About SOME

SOME (So Others Might Eat) has been serving the homeless and poor in Washington, DC for 40 years. SOME began as a tiny soup kitchen and now provides more than 1,000 meals to hungry people each day. In addition, SOME provides clothing, medical care, job training, affordable housing, programs for the elderly and other services that empower individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
