Fred's Third Annual Turkey Trot
White & Case Energy Team
Miss Jean Kuei
Once again, after a brief year hiatus, I am participating in SOME’s Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger on November 23rd. Everyone's been so generous in the past that I'd love to keep the momentum going and blow past the previous fundraising totals.
Thanksgiving day is the perfect opportunity to give thanks for all of the fortune and blessings of life, as demonstrated by the custom of spending time with family and friends. Many people choose to volunteer as a way to spread some of their fortune and blessings to others on that day. Unfortunately, family and other Thanksgiving obligations and activities don't permit all those that would be so inclined to engage in volunteer efforts to be a blessing to others. This is where I come in. I'll do the work for you while you are enjoying your day. I hope that you'll donate to my run as a way to help others.
And once again to sweeten the pot, I am offering prizes to selected donors. The largest donor will once again receive a prize. I promise it will be a good one. Last time I included a contest for naming my annual run. Because of the lack of entries (I only received one entry, although it was a really funny one) I've decided to select an additional donor at random to receive a thank you gift (also a good one) once the original fundraising goal has been met.
About the Run:
SOME's Trot for Hunger is a 5K run and family walk held on Thanksgiving Day to benefit the homeless and poor in Washington, DC. The Trot provides essential support for SOME's programs for the poor and homeless and helps ensure that hungry District residents have a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day and every other day of the year.
You can help me support people in need by making a tax-deductible contribution in my name or by registering to participate in this year's Trot for Hunger. Your support makes a world of difference in the life of a child or adult in need.
