The course is flat. Participants start on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW near 13th Street going southeast on the south side of Pennsylvania Avenue. Proceed south on Third Street, NW turning west on D Street SW and north on 4th Street, SW. Take a left on Independence Avenue and complete a turn around at 7th Street. Continue on Independence Avenue and turn north on Third Street. Turn left on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, staying on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue to the start.
A first aid tent staffed by registered nurses will be located at the Start/Finish line. Police and race officials will be stationed along the course to ensure trotter safety. Bicycles, skateboards, and roller blades will not be permitted along the course. Dogs on leashes, baby joggers and strollers are welcome; however, they must remain on the right side of the course throughout.

Bag check will be available. For your convenience, every participant will receive a clear plastic bag at packet pick-up that can be used as your gear check bag.
