1.  SOME Wonderful Events

Get involved with SOME this holiday season!  Join us for the 6th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger on Thanksgiving morning.  We are proud to have Mayor Adrian Fenty as our Honorary Chair, who will be starting and running in the Trot.  Please register for the 5K fun run and family walk today!

The 21st Annual SOME Gala and Auction will be held at the newly renovated Newseum on Saturday, December 1st.  This event promises great company, music, cuisine and a Silent Auction!  All proceeds from the Dinner Gala benefit SOME’s Housing Development Initiative.  Do you have, or could you get an item to donate to our Silent Auction?  Perhaps tickets to a big game, dinner for 4 at a nice restaurant? If you can help with this effort, or to inquire about tickets to the event, please contact us at 202.797.8806 x1010 or stortola@some.org by November 26th.

2. Shoebox Gifts

During the holiday week in December, SOME distributes thousands of decorated Shoebox Gifts to the homeless and poor children, women, men, and seniors that visit the Dining Room. If you or your organization would like to participate, please visit us at http://www.some.org/inv_holiday.html.

3. Year End Giving

Sadly, the needs of Washington’s poor and homeless continue to increase.  Only through the support of caring friends such as you, has SOME been able to feed the most vulnerable people in our community for the past 38 years as well as provide addiction treatment, job training and affordable supportive housing.  I invite you to help us continue to provide these services that uplift the lives of the growing numbers of women, children and men who come to us in need every day.   Please consider making a year end contribution to help SOME continue our work by donating now!

 4. Thank You!

HTH 2007

The SOME team at Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Walkathon.

SOME would like to thank all those who made it out to Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Walkathon on Saturday, November 17th on the National Mall.  The event was attended by thousands and helps SOME to help the poor and homeless of Washington, DC. Thank you!
